...I know it has taken me a while... but, hey I am a kinder teacher and am exhausted beyond words at the end of each school day! :O)
This is the first year that Back to School is very far into the school year. We started school on August 13th and Back to School night for Kinder was on September 24th. Over a month in... On the bright side it gave me plenty of time to over stress, make TONS of changes and crafts with my kiddos. :-)
So, here are some high lights of the first day of School in Mrs. Acosta's Kinder classroom 2013-2014.
This packet was waiting for both parents and students (on their desks) when they walked in!
My kiddos all have a writing Journal and an "owl" early finishers folder.
These are my Homework/ Daily Communication Folders. Students get daily homework and all the important notes in here!
I also read "The Kissing Hand" for both the parents' sake and the kiddos. I asked the parents to give their kids a kissing hand and sent them on their merry way.
* It mostly worked, since I only had 2 criers as the parents left.
Once the parents were gone it was memory making time! I took their First Day of Kinder pics with the Kindergarten K.
We did a lot of other things, but this post is long enough... :O)
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!!!!! September 24, 2013
The front of the room with some important things to share! Agenda, ELA and Math program along with some useful tools we use in our class throughout the day.
This was waiting for the parents to take home... tons and tons of info!
Sentence writing and first attempt at paper dolls.
Welcome sign by the Friend & Family Board.
Another overflowing board... I had tooooo many ideas and with Back To School being so late plenty of time to do them. :O)
My "Giving Tree" with pick able apples for donations and cute owls for fun. :O)
WOW!!! This post is soooo long! Sorry lovely people, but I hope you enjoyed it.
Many things I do in my room are inspired by all the blogs I follow.
I am creative, but why re-invent the wheel and that is why I share!
Owl Let you know what I do for October (one of my FAVORITE months!)
